Procter & Gamble, Mission Possible IV
Background
Procter & Gamble (P&G) started as a small, family-operated soap and candle company; today it provides products and services to consumers in 140 countries. The company markets more than 300 branded products, including some very well known ones, such as Gillette, Fairy and Pringles. They have operations in more than 80 countries, employing nearly 140,000 people.
For the last 4 years P&G have followed the theme of ‘Mission Possible’ for its Annual Sales Force Conference. This year they wanted to round it off and accomplish the mission to end on a “we did it” note, rewarding their colleagues for their hard work. After Revelation’s impressive work on the theming of the event last year, for the 2009 conference we were asked to manage the production of the conference and to event manage the team build (with a twist!).
Solution
The conference brief was to provide AV production, theming and entertainment that had to be on brand and reinforce the event theme. Our team designed and built the set to incorporate the P&G brand and was also flexible enough to be able to change its physical state instantly with effective and vibrant lighting. This change in state was then the transition from the day time conference to evening team build and entertainment.
The conference suite in the London Airport venue was lit with intelligent light fixtures as well as LED up lighters. Mission Possible gobos were used around the room to reinforce the event theme and pyrotechnics to create extra drama.
With regards to the multi media elements we provided a themed presentation template for all the speakers’ presentations, completed any editing required and embedded the appropriate video and audio.
The team build element involved the Revelation creative team coming up with a task for the delegates over one of the afternoons. The result was a London ‘treasure hunt’ for 9 teams that would take in all the key London sights.
The hunt kicked off with an Ethan Hunt look a like (Tom Cruises character in the film) making a dramatic entrance onto the stage of the sales conference, begging to be rescued by the surprised audience as he was dragged off the stage by his kidnappers. Each team was dropped by land yachts in Trafalgar Square and kitted out with their bespoke clues, survival kits and digital cameras to document their hunt.
Each team made their way to various London attractions’ until their final clue led them to a lovely restaurant located in a well known London landmark where “Ethan” was rescued alive and well. After enjoying dinner and drinks the teams were whisked off to another fabulous venue where, from the 42nd floor, they were able to enjoy the best ‘skyline by night’ view in London.
Results
The whole event went was really well received with the team build proving to be a lot of fun. The objective of rounding of the theme with a bang whilst thanking everyone for their hard work was achieved successfully. The team at P&G found us easy to deal with both pre and on-site and believed we interpreted their requirements and delivered them very well.
“[They] delivered a wonderful team building event followed by a memorable evening - in more ways than one!! As always, it was a pleasure to work with the team from Revelation!!”
