The National Restaurant Awards

Last night The National Restaurant Awards took place at the Hurlingham Club, London. Organised by the Restaurant Magazine (published by William Reed Business Media) and produced by Revelation, the awards are designed to reward the crème de la crème of the gastronomic world of the UK's restaurant scene.

The winners are compiled and voted for by the National Restaurant Awards Academy - this is made up of prominent chefs, restaurateurs and food critics divided across the 12 regions of the UK.

The winner of the No1 spot was Heston Blumenthal's, The Fat Duck. Heston wasn't able to be there to collect the award himself but the Revelation team caught up with him last week to film an acceptance speech that was played out to the audience.

The South West did really well in the awards, scooping 10 of the top 100 titles. Two of the restaurants were Bristol based, Casamia coming in at number 97 & Bordeaux Quay at number 37. So congratualtions to both of them.
