The World's Best 50 Restaurants Awards 2009

In our fourth successive year at the helm, Revelation presented The S.Pellegrino World's Best 50 Restaurants 2009 for William Reed.  As with last year's achievement, we staged the restaurant industry's hottest annual event at the The United Grand Lodge of England, London.

With the intention of making an immediate impact on the arriving guests, we lit the grand entrance of the hall with both static and moving lights, including bespoke gobos that displayed the logo across the surrounding buildings giving the event a huge presence in the street.  At either side of the entrance we presented new, triangular sponsorship graphics for maximum exposure for the event sponsors.  We also produced graphics in various formats and on a variety of materials throughout the venue to create cohesion and leave a lasting impression on the guests.

We lit the foyer and main hall with the core colours of blues and greens with highlights of purples to give the desired regal effect.  With the use of shark's tooth drapes almost 40 feet long we created a simple but striking set that framed the stage without harsh corners.  The centrepiece was The World's Best 50 Restaurants 2009 brand projected through a gobo.  We used two projection screens on invisible wires on either side of the set to present slides of all the winners, further brand opportunities and live feeds from our video team.

By utilising the natural architectural beauty of the Freemason's Hall, we were able to create a grand event that still felt intimate for everybody who attended.  And with Mark Durden-Smith again presenting with panache, over 250 invited guests enjoyed another great show celebrating the success of the world's finest restaurateurs.
