World's 50 Best Restaurants 2008
Revelation are fresh back from Restaurant Magazine's World's 50 Best Restaurants Awards 2008, held at the magnificent Freemason's Hall in London.
The team were responsible for managing the full event and video production for the awards ceremony and worked alongside Restaurant Magazine to create an exceptional evening that reflected the growth of the internationally influential event which attracted media attention from around the world.
Most of the Top 50 restaurateurs and chefs were present at the ceremony this year, with over 300 guests watched Spain's El Bulli win best restaurant for the third consecutive year, once more pipping Heston Blumenthal's The Fat Duck in Berkshire to the converted prize.
The set which Revelation created worked amazingly well with the stunning and intricate craftsmanship that features in the venue. It was important that the design worked with this rather than cover it up, so in order to do this large pieces of gauze were hung from the ceiling and were lit to create an amazing effect. As well as the event production, we were also responsible for the live relays played around the venue and providing technical support to the numerous news crews on flew in from around the world to cover the show.
The event was a huge success with the guardian newspaper reporting:
"What was most striking about the whole affair - the huge projector screens, the wisps of dry ice, the thumping, grandiose music - was how serious it was taken by the media."
