Connaught

Background

Connaught is an asset management company that specialise in property related services. Since 1982 they have been working alongside social housing landlords to help provide better homes and communities as well as working closely with tenants and local organisations to provide training, jobs and also to assist businesses with compliance and continuity services. They put their success and growth over the past 25 years down to their longstanding customer relationships, their delivery of value through innovation and their commitment to developing highly motivated people.

As a celebration of their 25th Anniversary, Connaught wanted to host a conference for their staff which extended into an awards ceremony in the evening that recognised the achievements of people involved in the company. They appointed Revelation as event management and production company for the event along with a video production project. This year was the first time that Revelation and Connaught had worked together and the team were delighted to be able to work on the range of exciting projects that Connaught had in store. Plus after the success of the conference and the videos, Connaught asked Revelation to event manage and theme their Christmas party of which of course we were thrilled to do.


Solution


Video Production
Revelation provided a Video Production service to help Connaught deliver part of an internal communications project that required films to be produced that would be shown at their annual conference and then to be adapted and used afterwards for training purposes.

The Revelation Video Production team managed creative days with each of the four departments that required a film, these included Compliance, Environmental, History and Conntrol (Connaught's in-house bespoke IT department). These sessions were implemented to generate the storyboards and treatments for each film.

Revelation then liaised with each department to arrange actors, locations, crews and shoot logistics and then commenced an intense two week schedule of shooting. Once this was completed, the team were able to edit and deliver the DVD's for the conference.


Conference
Revelation provided a full production service for the conference during the day and then the awards show in the evening for Connaught's 25th anniversary event. This included responsibility for delegate registration on arrival, at which registration hosts provided by Revelation provided each delegate with a badge and also a live voting handset which would be used to encourage audience interaction throughout the conference.

The Revelation team managed the set and stage design and build, lighting and audio design and provided two camera technicians to record both the conference and awards ceremony.

For the evening, the theme was the Oscars which involved turning round the room and drinks reception area in the space of a couple of hours. The entrance and drinks reception included fake paparazzi actors, a Marilyn Monroe look-a-like, and human Oscar statues to bring the theme to life. There was also Oscar's themed walk up music edited and provided by Revelation, with Neil Bentley as the voice of God.

For entertainment after the show, casino tables and a DJ were supplied.


Christmas Party
The Revelation team event managed the Connaught Christmas Party that took on the theme of Narnia.

The lighting design included up-lighters around the venue as well as and lighting wash which really set it off. The entire room was covered in snow, with lots of references to the CS Lewis fantasy land and guests even had the opportunity to enter the party through a set of wardrobe doors especially produced for the event.


Results

The client was very pleased with the outcome of all the events and in a follow up meeting they communicated to Revelation that they had done a very good job and that the props at each of the events had looked great.
