International Wine Challenge - William Reed Publishing

Background

The leading b2b publisher, William Reed Business Media organises the International Wine Challenge (IWC) on an annual basis with over 9000 wines from across the globe being judged and tasted by the industry's leading international wine experts.

The tasting takes two weeks and is followed by an award ceremony to herald the winners. Those who do win receive huge commercial benefits and, due to the high regard consumers have for the accolade, winning an IWC award has a proven history of increasing  sales, international recognition and global promotion.

Solution

As part of Revelation's long standing relationship with William Reed Business Media they were appointed as production management company for the IWC Awards at the Grovsenor Hotel, Park Lane, London.

The Revelation team designed and constructed the impressive set with a huge white backdrop adorned with suspended and free-standing IWC branding , in conjunction with the marketing materials produced for the event. This striking branding was presented within the presentations as well as with the graphics on stage for the ceremony and were all created by Revelation.

The stage featured two lecterns on raised, circular stages, for the presenters and two front projection screens to display winning categories and award winners names and photos.

The projection, audio and lighting were all supplied and managed by Revelation.

Revelation liaised with the in-house technical team pre-event to design the sound which they then managed and created on-site. ‘Walk up' music was sourced before the event to accompany the award winners journey to the stage. The stage was lit using colour-changing LED up-lighters and the winners were followed from their tables to the stage with spot lights.

The Revelation team constructed two reception area photo booths with branded walls where the  finalists were photographed  before  dinner. The images taken were downloaded while the guests dined and were screened in the main show presentation and inserted into each nominee slide.

The video sting, featuring all the relevant sponsors logos for the awards and produced by the Revelation team, was played on a loop on to the large screens as the guests entered for dinner. Revelation also supplied a video team to capture the evening including post-event winner's interviews, with the complete video being delivered to Fox TV in Japan as well as being uploaded to the William Reed website.

Entertainment was provided by X-Factor star, Nicole Lawrence and sparkle was added by Oz Clarke, who collected the Personality of the Year award.

Results

William Reed were once again delighted with the flawless execution of the ceremony. They were very impressed with the onsite performance of the Revelation team and remain extremely confident in their ability to produce William Reed events seamlessly.
