World Travel Market

Background

World Travel Market is a business to business exhibition that provides a unique opportunity for the whole global travel trade industry to meet and network.

Attracting over 45,000 visitors, the four day event is one of the biggest of its kind running annually and this year took up the whole of ExCeL. The event features ‘The World Stage', a conference that features a packed programme with contributions from organisations from around the world focusing on a variety of topical issues affecting the travel and tourism industry.

Organised by Reed Exhibitions, Revelation were appointed as Conference Production Management Company to work alongside FRED Productions.


Solution

Revelation were responsible for designing and building all elements of the stage and set in the main conference room. It was important that this encompassed the marketing collateral & brand that has been established for the event to ensure cohesion.

Their role also meant that they were in charge of designing, rigging and operating the sound and lighting used during the event.

Revelation took responsibility for both live production management and calling the show.

The Revelation team also managed a new feature at the show on their recommendation; a speaker preview room offering presenters a quiet room to rehearse and amend their presentations, as well as check their email & hold meetings in the informal lounge area. The facility included a technician to assist with any IT issues and all the computers were networked to the main conference room so last minute changes could be made and sent to screen with very short lead time.

On the final day of the show, the World Stage was lost to the Virgin Travel Awards at which X Factor winner Ray Quinn presented the awards and then entertained the audience with his unique X Factor style!


Results

Everyone involved with the event were delighted with it's success and talks for the 2009 event are underway.

In response to our feedback survey, we received 100% positive feedback on every aspect of our performance at the event with our calmness on site being noted as one thing that that we did exceptionally well.
